Featuring the voices of Mike Myers (
Austin Powers), Cameron Diaz (
Gangs of New York and
Very Bad Things) and Eddie Murphy (
Life and
Norbit) this animation is set in a land populated by fairy tale characters and amongst them lives Shrek – an ogre who lives in isolation and is not very receptive to visitors, especially talking donkeys. Comfortable in his swamp, Shrek lives a relatively quiet and peaceful life until one day Lord Farquaad decides to turn the swamp into a camp for banished fairy tale characters. Accompanied by his new found friend Donkey, Shrek travels to Duloc where the Lord will make him an offer. Of course during their journey they are faced with a number of problematic situations with hilarious consequences. With reference to traditional fairy tales this film is loaded with witty humor, compelling characters, impressive computer animation and is guaranteed entertainment.
