Hitflip
The film revolves around Frank Murphy (Roy Scheider) who is a helicopter pilot-officer, troubled Vietnam War veteran and sufferer of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Amid both a domestic and occupational crisis, he is selected to pilot the world\'s most advanced helicopter, \"Blue Thunder\", which, because of its powerful armament and stealth technology that allows it to fly virtually undetected, appears to be a formidable tool in the war on crime that the LAPD readily accepts. Then, when Murphy and Lymangood (Daniel Stern) discover that the government intend to use Blue Thunder to eliminate political “undesirables” and that the death of local councilwoman Diane McNeely turns out to be premeditated murder, Murphy begins his own underground investigation and what follows is an intense action thriller of fast-paced classic 80s entertainment.
